Compassionate job programs

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) offers compassionate appointments to dependents of employees who die in service or retire on medical grounds. This program aims to support families facing financial hardship due to the sudden loss or disability of the earning member. Eligible dependents—such as a spouse, son, or unmarried daughter—can apply for suitable Group C or D posts, based on their qualifications.

Applications must be submitted with proof of dependency, death/disability certificate, and income details. Selection is subject to vacancy availability and approval by a screening committee. The program follows Government of India norms to ensure fair, transparent, and timely support for affected families through gainful employment in the ICMR system.
